Govt initiates move to set up special court to try 2G case
New Delhi, Feb 24 (PTI) Government today initiated theprocess of setting up a special court to try the 2G spectrumallocation case following directions by the Supreme Court.
Law Minister M Veerappa Moily has written to Delhi HighCourt Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Chief Minister SheilaDikshit requesting them to take immediate steps in thisregard.
He has asked them to set up a special CBI court whichshould exclusively deal with the trial of the 2G case.
He has requested that the special court should benotified as a sessions court, which will have the power toconduct trial in money laundering cases under the provisionsof the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
