Taiwan Industrial Park to come up near Sanand in Guj: Modi

Ahmedabad, Feb 24 (PTI) Gujarat Chief Minister NarendraModi today announced that a Taiwan Industrial Park will comeup close to Sanand near here, which will attract investmentsfrom Taiwanese industry.

Modi made the announcement during an interactive sessionhere with a trade delegation from Taiwan led by its Ministerfor Economic Planning and Development, Christine Y Liu.

"The park, meant exclusively for industrial groups ofTaiwan, is expected to be spread across 700 to 800 acres inSanand taluka, which is home to Tata Nano factory," a topstate official told PTI.

Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) islikely to develop it.

Three major Taiwanese groups, which are part of this80-member high-powered delegation, have announced plans to setup a manufacturing facility in Gujarat.

"Teco group announced that it will set up a electronicmotor plant near Vadodara. LCY Chemical has decided toestablish a polymer manufacturing facility in Dahej, andSunner will set up a solar panel manufacturing plant," a stateofficial said.
