Rao meets NDA leaders seeking support on bill for Telangana

New Delhi, Feb 22 (PTI) TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Raotoday met leaders of NDA, including BJP''s Sushma Swaraj, andsought their support for an adjournment motion he plans tomove in Parliament tomorrow demanding a discussion onTelangana statehood issue.

Besides meeting Swaraj, Rao held talks with NDA convenorSharad Yadav of JD (U) and other alliance leaders and soughttheir support for exerting pressure on the Centre to introducea bill in current session of Parliament for formation ofTelagana.

Rao told reporters that he met Lok Sabha Speaker MeiraKumar who promised him that she will allow him to raise theTelangana issue during the Zero Hour.

"But I told her that I want a proper discussion on thesubject," he said.

"We want the Congress-led UPA to spell out its stand onthe Telangana issue," he said.
