MCD demolishes illegal portions of 11 properties

New Delhi, Feb 15 (PTI) Acting against unauthorisedconstructions, the MCD today demolished illegal portions of 11properties in the capital.

Action was taken against five properties in Rohini Zoneand six in Central Zone. "The drive was carried out by theBuilding Department with the help of police despite resistancefrom the public," an official said.

The areas where the drive was undertaken include TriNagar, Rani Bagh, Mangolpuri Industrial Area, TughlakabadExtension and Vishvakarama Colony.

The MCD started acting tough against unauthorisedconstructions after a building with illegal floors collapsedin east Delhi in November last year killing 71 people.
