Rains lash Punjab
Chandigarh, Feb 15 (PTI) Light to moderate rains drenchedmost parts of Punjab and Haryana even as minimum temperaturerose upto four degrees Celsius at many places in the region.
As the sky remained overcast the minimum temperaturehovered between two to four degrees celsius above normal inthe region, the Met office said here today.
Narnaul was drenched by 17 mm of rains followed by 12.8mm at Rohtak, 5.4 mm each at Ludhiana and Karnal, 3.2 mm atHisar, 0.6 mm at Chandigarh and 0.3 mm at Ambala.
Amritsar was coldest in the plains of Punjab and Haryanawith 8.5 deg C, which was however, two notches above normal.
Patiala settled at a low of 12.2 deg C, two notches abovenormal, while Ludhiana and Narnaul both were at 12.5 deg C,four notches above normal.
Rohtak was at 12.6 deg C, followed by Hisar 13.1 deg C,Chandigarh and Karnal each at 13.4 deg C. With 14.2 deg CAmbala was at four notches above normal.
The Met forecast cloudy conditions with possibility oflight showers and rise in day as well as night temperatures inthe region during the next two days.
