National convention on South India teas here

Coimbatore, Feb 15 (PTI) The 4th edition of NationalConvention on South India Teas will be held here on February26.

With a theme "South India Tea--Making a ValuableDifference", the 2-day convention would have more than 350delegates across the country, with producers and exportersfrom South India attending it, sources from United PlantersAssociation of South India (UPASI) said.

Since the event was mainly aimed at promoting South Indiateas, there would also the participation of major buyers fromthe length and breadth of the country, at the conventionjointly organised by Tea Traders Association of Coimbatore,Tea Board of India in association with Federation of All IndiaTea Traders Associations.

The organisers are attempting to rope in speakers from SriLanka, Iran and other major tea producing and consumingcountry, the source said.
