Haryana farmers demand higher compensation for land
Jhajjar, Feb 15 (PTI) A group of agitating farmers fromBadli village will march to Jantar Mantar in Delhi on February20, demanding higher compensation from the Haryana governmentfor their acquired land.
The farmers led by Haryana BKU general secretary DharmbirMundakhera are demanding Rs 1.50 crore per acre as against thegovernment compensation of Rs 36 lakh per acre.
"Compensation of Rs 82 lakh per acre has recently beenannounced by MP Ashok Tanwar for acquired lands in Sirsa,whereas land in Badli village is much costly in comparison toSirsa as it comes under NCR," Mundakhera said.
