Woman charred to death in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 13 (PTI) Asking for a lift proved fatalfor a young woman in north-west Delhi.

The woman, said to be in her mid-twenties, was charredto death in Bawana early this morning as the car she wastravelling in caught fire.

The incident took place at around 5:30 am and theidentity of the woman is yet to be established.

The woman asked for a lift from Surendra Rana (30) andhis sister Nirmal (28).

However, the car rammed into a divider soon and caughtfire.

Rana and Nirmal somehow managed to get out of the carbut the woman remained trapped inside.

A fire tender was rushed to the spot which doused thefire. She was rushed to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital where shewas declared brought dead.
