SSU to probe status of affiliated colleges

Varanasi, Feb 14 (PTI) Sampurnand Sanskrit University(SSU) here today announced the setting up of a committee toprobe the authenticity of colleges affiliated to it followingcomplaints related to the matter, University sources said.

"As many as 650 colleges are affiliated to SampurnanandSanskrit University. Most of the complaints we have receivedso far are related to their affiliation status. We are forminga committee to probe the complaints," Vice Chancellor BindaPrasad Mishra said last evening.

"We are in the process of fine-tuning the system. We willtry to bring in more transparency in the functioning ofvarious departments and CDs of all records will be made," hesaid.

Strict action will be initiated against those who tamperwith records, Mishra said.

The V-C expressed anguish over alleged instances ofeducational grants not being utilised by the University GrantCell.

The V-C, who inspected the campus of the SSU, imposed aban on consumption of tobacco products with immediate effect.
