Gilani appreciates Indo-Pak dialogue resumption, Manmohan's vision for better ties
Islamabad, Feb 11(ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has expressed his satisfaction on the decision taken by Pakistan and India to resume the full spectrum of their bilateral dialogue, and appreciated the vision of his Indian counterpart Dr Manmohan Singh in this regard.
Gilani made these remarks during a meeting with Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir, who presented him a report on his meeting with his Indian counterpart on the sidelines of the 33rd session of SAARC Council of Ministers meeting in Thimphu.
Gilani said this development was a culmination of the efforts made by him along with Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh during the last few months and most notably at Thimphu last April during the SAARC summit.
"I am satisfied on this development. It is the result of my negotiations with Dr Singh," the Daily Times quoted Gilani, as telling to reporters after the meeting.
He also appreciated the vision of the Indian PM for opening a new chapter in the relations between the two countries.
"This decision is exactly according to the spirit of understanding reached during my interaction with Dr Singh at Thimphu," Gilani added. (ANI)
