BJP govt in MP encouraging fundamentalists: Chidambaram

Indore, Feb 10 (PTI) Attacking the BJP, Union HomeMinister P Chidambaram said here today that its government inMadhya Pradesh was moving towards "encouraging religiousfundamentalists" and increasing social differences.

Addressing Congress workers at the party office here, theUnion Minister said that the BJP, in power in Madhya Pradesh,was moving towards encouraging religious fundamentalists anddividing the people.

Chidambaram said that the situation in Madhya Pradesh wasnot good with regard to infant mortality rate, and added thatthe State was falling behind on other social indicators too.

He appealed to the workers to campaign in the nextassembly elections on the plank of development, and throw theBJP out of power.
