Govt sets up two homes for destitute pregnant women

New Delhi, Feb 8 (PTI) Delhi Government has set up twoshelter homes for destitute pregnant women in the city whichwere made operational from today.

Health and Family Welfare Minister, inaugurating theshelter home in Jehangirpuri in North Delhi said the citygovernment was fully committeed to provide all kinds ofsupport to the vulnerable women.

She said destitute pregnant women will be providednutritious food, ante-natal and post-natal care in thesehomes.

Walia said her department has entered into apartnership pact with an NGO to run both the shelters. Shesaid the government will spend Rs. 1.11 crore annually to runthese homes.
