Haryana''s new excise policy to increase revenue: Kiran
Narnaul, Feb 6 (PTI) A new excise policy will beimplemented in Haryana, if necessary, aiming at increasingrevenue for undertaking more development works in the state, aminister said today.
Excise and Taxation Minister Kiran Choudhry said 75 percent revenue of the state was received from the taxes andkeeping this in view more transparency would be effected inthe department.
A meeting of all stakeholders had been convened atGurgaon on February 10 to discuss their problems and invitetheir suggestions.
Corruption and bungling in the Department would not betolerated at any cost, she said.
She said that e-tenders would be invited for the worksinvolving an investment of more than Rs five lakh and eachtender would be granted on the basis of merit.
Choudhry said that a monitoring committee comprisingnon-political people would be constituted in each district tokeep an eye on development works. The committees would submitreports every week.
