Two held for murder

New Delhi, Feb 3 (PTI) Two persons were arrested forallegedly killing a man to avenge the murder of a relative ofone of them in Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, police said today.

Ghanshyam Chauhan (30) and Amit Raghav (28) allegedlyshot dead Kapil, a resident of Meerut, on January 28. Chauhanwanted to take revenge as Kapil allegedly murdered hisbrother-in-law Rakesh. Chauhan''s sister was also arrested inthe case of her husband''s murder.

"He thought that Kapil was responsible for eliminatingRakesh and ruining his sister''s life as her in-laws andchildren refused to accept her after she was released on bail.

Due to this reason, he decided to kill Kapil," a senior policeofficial said.

He became friends with the victim and purchased twocountry-made fire arms from him.

Chauhan called Kapil to Milan Vihar of north Delhi andthreatened him. He tried to flee the spot but Chauhan fired athim and the bullet hit his waist.

Amit also joined and allegedly fired a bullet in Kapil''schest, police said.

Chauhan was apprehended from Sant Nagar while Amit wasarrested from the walled city area.
