''PC evolving broad response to political aspects of JK issue''

Jammu, Feb 3 (PTI) Union Home Minister P Chidambaram isin the process of evolving a "broad response" to the politicalaspects of the Kashmir issue and has asked the state Congressto be "innovative".

"Chidambaram is in the process of organising a broadresponse to the political aspects of the Kashmir situation. Hewants a broad response to the situation in J and K" which wasin focus during a closed-door meeting he held with top stateparty leaders, JKPCC chief Saifuddin Soz told reporters here.

"The most important thing Chidambaram said to us is to beinnovative in future to the extent possible. We have to beinnovative and move forward," Soz said.

On regional aspirations, Soz quoted Chidambaram as sayingthat "the unity of the state is of paramount importance.

Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu will have to go together".

"Aspirations of the different regions have to beaccommodated. Keeping these aspects in view, we can beinnovative in the days to come," the JKPCC chief said addingthat within these parameters, many things have to come.

Chidambaram, who arrived here on a two-day visit,interacted with the Congressmen seeking to know theirviewpoints over the "political aspirations" of three regionsof the state.

The Home Minister also had a dinner meeting with GovernorN N Vohra at the Raj Bhawan where they are understood to havediscussed the security situation, counter-terrorism operation,infiltration and governance in the state.

He will meet Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over breakfasttomorrow and will hold a security review meeting at hisresidence. He will also visit Kishtwar district for reviewingthe security situation there. (More) PTI AB PAL
