40 workers of Aurangabad firm arrested for attacking officials
Aurangabad, Jan 31 (PTI) Forty employees of a local firmwere today arrested and criminal cases were registered againstthem for allegedly manhandling administrative officers anddamaging the company''s property, police said.
According to police, after the management of the Baglacompany, located in Chittegaon industrial area here, hadsuspended 20 workers, one of the employees'' unions protestedagainst the decision yesterday.
The protest turned aggressive and members of the unionattacked the company officials and damaged property worth Rs15 lakh, they said.
The protesters also damaged 10 four wheelers parked inthe premises of the company, police said adding that a casewas registered against 56 employees following a complaint bythe company''s personnel manager.
Sixteen employees are yet to be arrested.
