Case against Cong MLA for roughing up engineer

Solapur (Mah), Jan 29 (PTI) A case was registered againstCongress legislator Dilip Mane, after he allegedly roughed upan engineer here over a minor dispute, police said today.

According to the complainant, the incident took placeyesterday at Kumthe, after Mane and his men allegedly beat oneJitij Balwadikar, using sticks and iron rods.

The civil engineer, who suffered injuries in the attackhas been admitted to a hospital here, Sadar Bazar police said.

Mane has however refuted the charges and said he was notpresent on the spot.

Balwadikar said he had constructed an educationalinstitute here, which was scheduled to be inaugurated onFebruary one by former BJP MP Subhash Deshmukh.

And since Mane was not invited to the function, it irkedhim which led to the attack, he added.
