15-yr-old girl loses leg after container falls on her

Nagapattinam,Jan 25 (PTI): A 15-year old girl lost her legafter a container lorry turned turtle and trapped her beneathit at Vaitheeswarankoil near Sirkazhi in the district today.

Police said the girl and her friend were going to school ona bicycle when the driver of the speeding container lorry lostcontrol of his vehicle and it overturned. On seeing the loadsslipping, her friend ran away, but she was trapped beneathone container and had her legs crushed, police said

Locals and fire and rescue services personnel rescued herand got her admitted in hospital.

The lorry driver fled the scene.

The lorry was proceeding to Mayiladuthurai from Chennaiwhen the mishap occurred.
