Woman stabbed to death; body set on fire

Patiala, Jan 24 (PTI) A woman was stabbed to death andher body burnt by unidentified persons in Delite colony in thewee hours today.

The woman was identified as Lakhwinder Kaur (50).

Assailants first stabbed her to death and later set her bodyon fire to mislead the police, police said, adding, a case ofmurder has been registered against the unidentified persons.

They said Kaur''s servant informed the police regardingthe incident when he came to her house this morning and sawthe burnt body of the woman.

Police said that it was the handiwork of one or twopersons.
