Kemppi Oy to invest over USD 10 mn in India in next 2 years

Chennai,Jan19 (PTI) Kemppi OY, a leading Finland companyinvolved in the manufacture of arc welding machines, wouldinvest over USD 10 million in India in the next two years.

The company''s first fully owned unit outside Finland iscoming up at suburban Neelankarai and would be commissioned byApril next, Kemppi Oy (India)''s Managing Director Aravind Vasutold reporters here today.

With the growing Indian Market for infrastructure,welding industry was well poised to grow and his companywanted to capitalise on the growing market, he said.

He said the Chennai unit would start with manufacturing3000 welding machines.As many as 70 per cent of the partswould be sourced locally, which would reduce the costconsiderably, he said.

The machines produced here would also be exported to Asianand Middle east markets, he said.
