OTT releases this week offer an unusually crowded slate across Indian and international platforms, with crime thrillers, campus comedies, relationship dramas, documentaries and regional films competing for attention. For viewers planning a weekend watchlist, the strongest draw is the mix of new seasons, franchise titles and language options across Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar, Aha Video, SonyLIV, Lionsgate Play and other services.

The June 16-21 lineup is especially heavy on thrillers and regional releases. Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Korean and English titles are all part of the schedule, giving audiences enough choice beyond the usual Hindi-English split. Several releases also arrive with dubbed versions, making this week useful for viewers who prefer pan-India accessibility.

OTT releases this week: Big titles to watch first

One of the most closely watched arrivals is Drishyam 3, streaming on Amazon Prime Video from June 18. Mohanlal returns as Georgekutty, with Meena and Asha Sharath also part of the cast. The new chapter continues the family’s tense struggle to preserve normalcy as pressure begins to build again around past secrets.

The film will be available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi, widening its reach beyond its core audience. Another Prime Video release is The Agency: Season 2, arriving on June 21. Its story follows a covert CIA agent returning to London Station, where an old romance draws him into a wider game of espionage.

Netflix lineup brings thrillers, comedy and emotional drama

Netflix has one of the busiest slates this week. I Will Find You, streaming from June 18, stars Sam Worthington, Britt Lower and Milo Ventimiglia. The thriller follows a father wrongfully imprisoned for murdering his son, only to learn that the boy may still be alive. The premise sets up a rescue story built around grief, doubt and desperation.

On June 19, Netflix adds Oasis, a mystery thriller about a young woman who vanishes from a luxury resort. With guests and staff trapped until the truth emerges, the title fits the closed-setting suspense format that has found a steady audience on streaming platforms.

The same day also brings Voicemails for Isabelle, starring Zoey Deutch, Nick Robinson and Nick Offerman. The film turns on an unusual romantic-comedy idea: a young woman’s confessional voicemails to her late sister are accidentally redirected to a stranger, who begins falling for her from afar.

Korean comedy-action title Husbands in Action also lands on Netflix on June 19. Starring Jin Sun-kyu, Gong Myoung and Kim Ji-suk, it follows a detective who must work with his ex-wife’s new husband after she is kidnapped. Hindi drama Thukra Ke Mera Pyaar Season 2 also arrives the same day, with revenge, betrayal and dark politics driving the new season.

Netflix’s documentary pick is Andre Is An Idiot, streaming from June 17. Centred on Andre Riccardi, the Sundance-winning documentary blends personal storytelling with surreal stop-motion interludes as it follows his final journey after a preventable diagnosis.

Regional OTT releases widen the weekend watchlist

JioHotstar’s Tamil release Kenatha Kanom began streaming on June 16. Directed by Suresh Sangaiah, the film stars Yogi Babu, Raichal Rabecca Philip, Lovelyn Chandrasekhar and George Maryan. Set in a drought-hit village, the story begins with residents searching for water and uncovering an unexpected mystery linked to a missing well and hidden interests.

JioHotstar also streams Save The Tigers 3 from June 19. The Telugu comedy-drama returns with Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Abhinav Gomatam, Krishna Chaitanya, Jordaar Sujatha, Deviyani Sharma, Pavani Gangireddy and Vennela Kishore. This season follows three frustrated husbands as their fantasies about alternate lives lead to more complications than comfort.

Aha Video has two Telugu titles in the mix. Dhairye Sahase Amrutha, directed by Bharath Papineni, arrived on June 18 with Dinesh Koushika, Veni Rao, Rodda Yadagiri and Vijaya Kumar Paluri. The romantic drama follows characters facing emotional crossroads and difficult life choices. Razor, directed by Ravi Babu, premieres on June 19 and follows a pet groomer forced into a dangerous survival situation while protecting a young girl.

SonyLIV adds Malayalam action-comedy Athiradi on June 19. Directed by Arun Anirudhan, it stars Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Riya Shibu, Shaan Rahman, Darshana Rajendran, Zarin Shihab and Vishnu Agasthya. The story centres on a student trying to revive a banned college festival, only for a rivalry to trigger chaos.

Other regional releases include Aashaan on Sun NXT and Gu on ManoramaMAX, both from June 19. Aashaan follows cinema enthusiasts chasing film-industry dreams, while Gu explores psycho-horror through a family visit to an ancestral home in Malabar and the unsettling legend of Gulikan.

Lionsgate Play has two Indian thrillers on June 19. Aliya Basu Gayab Hai, starring Raima Sen, Vinay Pathak and Salim Diwan, revolves around a kidnapping and shifting truths. M4M – Motive For Murder follows ACP Krishna and journalist Radha as they investigate staged killings in Hyderabad that resemble famous paintings.
