Mother kills 2 kids by throwing them in well: tries suicide

Dharmapuri (TN), Jan 15 (PTI): Frustrated over frequentbeatings from her drunkard husband, a mother killed two of herthree minor girl children by throwing them into a well andtried to commit suicide by jumping in at Nalapurampattivillage 42 km from here, police said.

Fire service personnel recovered bodies of two children,aged four and two and a half and are trying to locate that ofa six-month-old baby girl.

Police said the couple frequently had arguments over theman''s drinking habits and that he used to beat her upfrequently.

After one such incident yesterday, she left for her homeat Noolahalli along with her three children.On crossing a wellabout 200 meters away, she threw the children in and thenjumped in, police said.

As she knew swimming, she climbed out immediately and thenshouted for help.Villagers rushed to the spot and fire servicewas also summoned from nearby Pennagram village, after whichthey recovered the bodies.
