Karna govt announces Rs 1 lakh for next of kin of pilgrims
Bangalore, Jan 15 (PTI) Karnataka government todayannounced an ex-gratia of Rs one lakh each to the next of kinof 28 pilgrims from the state who died in the stampede atPulumedu in Kerala.
Condoling the loss of lives, Chief Minister B SYeddyurappa also said that Rs 25,000 would be paid to thoseinjured.
A team of state disaster management officials alongwith Energy Minister Shobha Karandlaje has left for Sabarimalato assist the pilgrims from Karnataka.
Agriculture Minister Umesh Katti also left fromBelgaum district, from where 10 of the pilgrims who died inthe tragedy hailed.
