Woman gets life term for killing baby of husband''s 2nd wife

Dehra Dun, Jan 12 (PTI) A Tehri court has sentenced awoman to life imprisonment for killing an infant of herhusband''s second wife more than a year ago.

Holding guilty of killing the one-month-old boy bythrowing him from the terrace of a house at Marara village inDhanaulti area, District and Sessions Judge Alok Vermayesterday awarded life imprisonment to Sumitra Devi.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 25,000 on her.

Devi was upset with her husband Padam Singh for marryinganother woman and to take revenge she killed the infant onNovember 16, 2009.
