Three US drone strikes kill 11 suspected militants in North Waziristan

Miranshah, Jan 1(ANI): At least eleven suspected insurgents were killed in three US drones attacks in North Waziristan near the Pak-Afghan border on Saturday.

"US drones fired multiple missiles on two suspected hideouts and a vehicle. At least eleven suspected militants have been killed and many others injured. The drones are still flying over the area," Geo TV quoted one security official in Miranshah, as saying.

Another security official in Miranshah confirmed the attacks in Mandi Khel and Ghoresti areas of the Agency.

Five men among the dead were reportedly attached to militant commander Hafiz Gul Bahadur, security officials in Miranshah and Peshawar said.

Mandi Khel and the surrounding area is a known stronghold of the Islamist Haqqani network. (ANI)
