Pak Interior Ministry clears 18 Indian publishers to attend book fair
Islamabad, Dec 24 (ANI): The Pakistan Interior Ministry has reportedly given a green signal to 18 Indian publishers to attend a five-day 6th Karachi International Book Fair 2010 starting on Friday.
According to The Nation, Indian publishers were invited by Pakistan Publishers and Book Sellers Association (PPBA), but the Interior Ministry was creating hurdles for these participants to acquire visas.
The paper quoted Aziz Khalid, Zonal Chairman of Pakistan Publishers and Booksellers Association, as saying that the interior ministry had given clearance to 18 Indians, belonging to different leading Indian publishers, who would reach Karachi on Sunday (December 26).
KIBF is the largest event in the Pakistan, and around 250 thousands people are expected to attend the event, the paper said.
Besides, publishers from various countries like Singapore, Iran, Britain, and Malaysia would also participate in the book fair, it added. (ANI)
