Europe: Snow plays spoil sport for Christmas

Heathrow, world's busiest international airport on Wednesday, Dec 22 announced that it would not perform normally till Thursday, Dec 23.
Since Saturday, Dec 18, Heathrow cancelled hundreds of flights following the snowfall of 12.7cm (five inches) in an hour.
At the official site of the Heathrow airport, the authorities requested the air passengers to check current information about their flights on their websites and gave a detail how to cope up with the rules.
The authorities also urged the people not to leave for their scheduled flights untill they (passengers) receive any confirmation from the airline authorities.
The airport officials warned, "Airlines are currently operating a significantly reduced schedule while they move diverted aircraft and crew back into position."
