I stay firm on Karkare statement, says Digvijay

Digvijay Singh
New Delhi, Dec 19: Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh said he will stay firm on his comment that he received a phone call from former ATS chief Hemant Karkare before his death during 26/11 Mumbai attack.

Earlier, Digvijay told media that Hemant Karkare informed him about receiving threats to his life from Hindu terrorists in connection with the Malegon blasts. His remarks popped up political controversy between Congress and the Opposition parties, especially BJP and RSS.

Digvijay on Sunday, Dec 19 said, "I continue to stand by what I said and I do not think that there is any question of my retracting it or going back on it."

He also added that Congress party has been supporting him and none asked him to retract the controversial statement.
