New power grid station to benefit 200 villages in Anantnag
Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir), Dec.15 (ANI): At least 200 villages in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district are set to gain benefits from the upcoming Lissar Power Grid Station, which is in the penultimate stage of construction.
Additional District Development Commissioner Showkat Fazali said the Lissar Power Grid Station is being constructed under the Prime Ministers Reconstruction Programme (PMRP).
Within next three to four months, when the grid station will be commissioned, villages such as Kokernag, Verinag, Prang, Lissar and many more will now be provided uninterrupted electricity.
"Many villages will be benefited by this, I mean this will cater to the entire Prang, Kokernag. It is the matter of three to four months. Many people will be benefited with the power generated from here," said Fazali.
The power grid station has a capacity of 50 MVA with a rating of 132/33KV.
"Our Brang region includes 200 villages and this power grid station will be very beneficial for us. Due to this power station our problem will be solved within two to three months and power will be supplied to us properly," said Rayees Ahmad, a villager.
