Kavita Karkare rubbishes Digvijay comments

Mumbai, Dec 11: After the mass furore caused by Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh's comment on Hemant Karkare, it's the turn of Kavita Karkare to hit back at Digvijay Singh and says that his statement will mislead people and benefit Pakistan.

"I want the world to know that Pakistan is behind the attack and not anyone else," she said. She also stated that Karkare's death should not be attributed to any Hindu groups.

Hemant Karkare was involved in investigations regarding the Malegaon blast and Digvijay Singh claimed that Karkare was facing threats to his life by people opposing the investigations.

Kavita also pointed that Digvijay was resorting to vote-bank politics and other political agendas with his statements.Digvijay had stated, "People were commenting on Hemant Karkare's integrity and commitment. BJP leaders including Rajnath Singh and other big names raised questions on his honesty, integrity and commitment. He was depressed due to this. He had told me this when I had called him at that point. He also said that he was receiving threatening phone calls but did not know who were making those calls".

The BJP reacted strongly to Digvijay's suggestions and said that they were "diversionary tactics".
