Peshawar, Dec 8(ANI): International media watchdog Reporters Without Borders (RWB) has called on the Taliban to stop bombings at public places after two journalists were killed in Monday's suicide attack in Pakistan's Mohmand Agency.

"We appeal to Taliban to immediately stop this repugnant practice of organising suicide bombings at meetings attended by civilians and covered by journalists," the Daily Times quoted RWB, as saying in a statement.

Journalists Abdul Wahab and Pervez Khan were among 50 killed in twin suicide bombings targetting a jirga in Ghalanai, the headquarters of the Mohmand tribal region.

Taliban leader Umer Khalid had claimed responsibility for the double suicide bombings.

Pakistan is the world's most dangerous country for mediapersons, with a total of 11 journalists killed since the start of 2010, the Paris-based media organisation said.

Afghan Taliban chief Mullah Muhammad Omar is on the RWB list of 'Predators of Press Freedom' (ANI)
