Cape Town, Dec 6(ANI): The trial of three men arrested for the murder of Anni Dewani, the Brit-Indian honeymooner in South Africa last month, is set to begin in Cape Town's Wynberg Regional Court today.

Anni and her husband Shrien Dewani were two weeks into their Cape Town honeymoon when the taxi they were in was hijacked in the Khayelitsha township by two men armed with guns on November 13.

They ordered the driver of the taxi to get out, and then took off with the car and the couple.

Shrien was later released, but the gunmen took off with Anni, who was later found dead inside the car.

Three men have since been detained in connection with Anni's murder- taxi driver Zola Tongo, 25-year-old suspect Mziwamadoda Qwabe, and another 23-year-old man Xolile Mngeni.

According to The Star, the three men will face charges of kidnapping, murder and robbery.

Murder and robbery charges carry life sentences in South Africa.

Meanwhile, Tonga's lawyer has said the driver will spill the beans.

Tonga is known to have admitted his part in a conspiracy, and sources have claimed that he has accused Shrien of taking part in a "set-up" in which his wife would be robbed and killed.

He is also expected to name a fourth suspect. (ANI)
