SC slams CBI for not inquiring Raja, Telecom Secy

Supreme Court of India
New Delhi, Nov 25: Supreme Court has slammed Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday, Nov 25 for not questioning former Union Telecom Minster A Raja and Telecom Secretary in the 2G spectrum scandal.

Supreme Court bench comprised of GS Singhvi and AK Ganguly slammed CBI by saying that it was "beating around the bush". Bench also expressed its surprise over CBI's failure in questioning A Raja despite the CVC and CAG report in 2G spectrum scam.

"Any responsible person will question the involvement of the Minister and the Secretary and CBI said that 8,000 documents have been examined. You are beating around the bush," the bench observed during the argument.

"The CAG under the constitution has a very important position. It is an authority set up under the constitution. It was (questioning) minimum expected of the CBI. What do you take this court for," bench added.
