Cambodia Stampede: Over 300 dead at water festival

Bangkok, Nov 23: Cambodia witnessed its one of the worst tragedy as more than 300 people were killed and 100 more were injured in a stampede at an annual water festival on Monday, Nov 22.

The stampede was reportedly began when people on an island, close to the Bassac River, panicked in a dense crowd, however, there was no confirmation of the cause of the stampede.

Expressing grief over the tragedy, the Prime Minister of the country Hun Sen stated, "This is the biggest tragedy in more than 31 years since the Pol Pot regime."
