Nawaz assures Zardari, Gilani that PML-N won't dislodge Pak govt.
Islamabad, Nov 20 (ANI): Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani separately telephoned PML-N chief, Nawaz Sharif, and assured him that the government was sincerely striving to address the concerns to the people, and would give serious consideration to his suggestions to Zardari in a letter written a few days back.
During the telephone call, which was ostensibly made to condole the death of Sharif's uncle Mian Miraj Din, Zardari once again extended his invitation to the PML-N chief to meet him, so that some joint strategy could be evolved to address the problems being faced by the masses, especially in the flood affected areas, The Nation reported.
According to PML-N sources, though Sharif did not make any commitment towards meeting the President in near future, he agreed with him that political forces in the country should work jointly for strengthening the democratic institutions in the country.
The former premier also assured Zardari that his party would not become part of any move to dislodge the government, but at the same time said that the government must address the serious problems plaguing Pakistan's governance.
Sources further revealed that Zardari assured Sharif that the suggestions put forth by him in his letter would be given due consideration, and that he had already dispatched him an interim reply of the letter.
Meanwhile, Gilani also called up Sharif, and informed him about the short reply of his letter, and assured him that government would give due consideration to his suggestions to spruce up the governance and to provide solace to the masses.
The Prime Minister also assured the PML-N chief that his party would continue with its policy of reconciliation, and would take all the stakeholders on board while taking decisions. (ANI)
