Facebook wants to kill Gmail, launching Titan

Technology site TechCrunch reported that Facebook's secret project named as 'Project Titan' will surface on Monday, Nov 15 during Facebook"s special event. The new web based e-mail service will provide @facebook.com ([email protected]) email addresses for users.
Some of the officials inside Facebook secretly reported that Project Titan can be regarded as a Gmail-killer.
The Facebook's special event will reveal the revamped look for its Inbox. Also there will be a full POP/IMAP support, which allows users to access the account other than through Facebook itself.
According to Facebook, more than 60 million people log in to 80,000 third party websites each month via Facebook Connect.
The launch of Facebook's e-mail service will be a great threat to Google's Gmail service. Google is trying hard to compete with Facebook for advertisement revenues. Earlier, Google has blocked the service, which allow Facebook users to import contacts from Gmail.
