50-yr-old Mexican woman gives birth to gay son's baby

London, Nov 11 (ANI): A fifty-year-old Mexican woman has given birth to a child whose biological father is her gay son.

The woman, whose name has been withheld, decided to offer her womb to her 31-year-old son 'Jorge', a single gay businessman who wanted a child, reports the Daily Mail.

She gave birth to her own grandson after conceiving by in vitro fertilisation with the help of doctors in Mexico City.

A friend donated the ovum and Jorge's sperm was used to fertilise it in a laboratory before it was transplanted in his mother's womb.

Jorge's mother, who gave birth to her own grandson, Dario, by caesarean section on November 1, has been released from the hospital after 48 hours of observation.

The attending doctors said that there were no complications.

"I don't feel like a mother nor like a grandmother," the woman told a Mexican local newspaper.

"When they say 'mother' to me I feel strange, and when they say 'grandmother' also. I mean, he was my first grandson, and I don't feel that way because at the same time he is my fourth son," she added.

The family has fully documented the circumstances of the birth so that the child will someday know the truth about his origins.

According to Juan Manuel Casillas, the obstetrician who oversaw the process, the woman 'would like to get pregnant again'.

"She says that if we know that the development [of the child] will be the same, she's delighted," he said. (ANI)
