X Down Again? Thousands Report Feed Failures And Search Glitches Across India Globally

X, formerly known as Twitter, faced a service disruption on Monday evening, with thousands of users in India and other countries reporting problems while accessing the platform. Users complained of feeds not loading, search results failing and errors while trying to open parts of the social media service.

Outage-tracking platform Downdetector showed more than 32,000 reports globally during the disruption. In India, the number of reports rose to about 1,820 around 7:45 pm IST, indicating that the issue affected a sizeable group of users during peak evening usage hours.

Many users said they were unable to refresh their timelines or view new posts. Others reported that search was not working properly, while some faced intermittent loading errors. The disruption appeared to affect both regular browsing and real-time updates, which are central to X’s use during breaking news and public conversations.

Downdetector’s figures are based on user-submitted reports and may not represent the full scale of an outage. However, a sharp rise in complaints usually indicates a wider technical issue. The platform tracks reports across apps, websites and internet services, and is often used to detect early signs of service disruptions.

India was among the countries where users flagged access problems. The timing was significant because evening hours usually see high activity on social platforms, including news updates, entertainment discussions, sports conversations and political commentary.
