Obama leaves for Delhi; PM to receive at airport

Mumbai, Nov 7: After the two-day visit in Mumbai, US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama leave for New Delhi from Mumbai International airport. Obama couple will reach Delhi after 3 pm.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gurusharan Kaur will receive them at Delhi airport. The PM will host a private dinner on Sunday for Obama couple at his official residence.

Earlier on Sunday, Nov 7 Obama couple celebrated Diwali with the students of Holy Name School in Colaba by tapping feet. Later US President interacted with farmers from Ajmer through video-conference.

During the e-conference, villagers showed Obama how e-governance has changed the lives of the people in the villages. Villagers also described how they access to education through broadband services.

Later Obama interacted with selected students at St Xaviers college in Mumbai. Indian students asked Obama's opinion about Jehad and extremism. He responded that extremists have distorted the Islamic values.

Responding to India-Pak relation, Obama told that India and Pakistan must start dialogues to ease the bilateral relation. He also asked Pak government to act more for eradicating terror, which is making them a unstable country.

Obama also answered the query about US-Afghanistan war policy. He described Afghanistan more complicated situation and US wants to impose Iraq model in Afghanistan. He made it clear that US can't withdraw army completely from Afghan soil.
