Food inflation dips to 13.75 percent

New Delhi, Oct 28: Food inflation declined to 13.75 percent. According to data issued by the government showed that the food inflation fell by 1.78 percentage points to 13.75 from 15.53 percent of the preceding week.

This is the second consecutive week when food inflation has declined.

Essential items like pulses, cereals, milk and fruits became costlier. However, Potato became cheaper by 49.69 percent on annual basis.

Where as cereals prices have risen by 4.97 percent, wheat prices increased by 6.56 percent and rice prices by 3.49 percent.

On a year basis, the prices of vegetables went down marginally by 0.77 percent.
