Better relations between India, Pakistan in the interests of both nations: Meira Kumar
Raipur, Oct 28 (ANI): Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has said that better relations between India and Pakistan are in the interests of both the nations and asserted that New Delhi is taking initiatives in this direction.
"These steps are a continuous process," she said, while addressing the media persons here after the conclusion of the conference on Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.
Meira Kumar was replying to a question on Pakistan Senate Deputy Chairman Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali's statement that the parliamentarians and legislators of both the nations have to take the initiative to bridge the discrepancies between the two sides.
Meira Kumar had earlier on Tuesday said that the international community should jointly take stern measures to counter the growing menace of terrorism.
The delegates present at the conference collectively expressed concern on terrorism and called for joint efforts at the international level to combat the threat in India and South Asia regions. (ANI)
