Democratic gov candidate asks Obama to 'take endorsement and shove it'
New York, Oct 26 (ANI): Rhode Island's Democratic governor candidate Frank Caprio has asked US President Barack Obama to 'shove it'.
Obama, who flew to Rhode Island on Monday, has refused to endorse his party's nominee, Frank Caprio; he is withholding his support as a favour to independent candidate Lincoln Chafee, a former GOP senator who endorsed Obama over Hillary Clinton and John McCain in the 2008 presidential election.
"Out of respect for his friend, Lincoln Chafee, the President decided not to get involved in this race," the New York Daily News quoted spokesman Bill Burton as saying.
This cheesed off Caprio who told WPRO, a radio station, that the President can "take his endorsement and shove it," calling the decision not to endorse a Democrat "Washington insider politics at its worst."
"We had one of the worst floods in the history of the United States a few months back, and President Obama didn't even do a flyover of Rhode Island," Caprio said during his radio rant.
"He ignored us, and now he's coming into Rhode Island and treating us like an ATM machine," he added.
Caprio, however, has Former Commander in Chief Bill Clinton's support - he has campaigned with him. (ANI)
