China set to operate driverless metro trains in Guangzhou
Beijing, Oct 21(ANI): China will soon open a new metro line with driverless trains in Guangzhou, where the 16th Asian Games are to be held next month.
Stretching 3.94 kilometers, the Automated People Mover (APM) service is part of the Guangzhou Metro Corporation.
Along the nine-station underground line, trains will travel at the maximum speed of 60 kilometers per hour, the Xinhua news agency reports.
Each train can take a maximum of 138 people, and a ticket for the ride will cost two yuan.
A Guangzhou Metro Corporation official estimated that the line would handle about 50,000 passengers per day. (ANI)
