Taliban kill woman accused of murdering mother-in-law in Afghanistan

Ghazni (Afghanistan), Oct 17(ANI): The Taliban has reportedly killed a woman accused of murdering her mother-in-law in Afghanistan's Ghazni city.

Local officials said that the mother-in-law was pushed into a bread oven by two of her daughters-in-law after a spat on Monday.

They said that the Taliban have spared the life of the second daughter-in-law, as she is pregnant.

"There was a verbal clash between the daughters-in-law and the mother-in-law. The daughters-in-law threw her into the oven. She died of serious burns," the BBC quoted an Afghan official, as saying.

The official said that it appears the mother-in-law's family approached the Taliban after the incident, and suspects the insurgents gave an AK-47 assault rifle to the brother of the dead woman, and asked him to shoot one of the daughters-in-law in public.

He said that the second woman might be kept hostage until she gives birth.

"She may then be killed," he added (ANI)
