An explosion at a house in Rewari on Sunday evening injured four family members and a neighbour, police said. The blast damaged the main iron gate and shattered glass in doors and windows. Officials said the cause was still unknown, and checks were underway to confirm what triggered the incident.

Police said the explosion happened at the home of Satbir Chauhan, a retired Army man, in Hans Nagar. Satbir Chauhan’s daughter Tanu, 23, was ironing clothes that evening. Police said a loud blast was then heard from the house.

Police said Satbir Chauhan, Satbir Chauhan’s wife Madhu, daughter Tanu, and a relative’s three-year-old daughter Khushi were at home. Neighbour Jai Bhagwan, a CRPF personnel, was also present. Tanu suffered serious burn injuries, police said, while Satbir Chauhan, Jai Bhagwan, and two-year-old Khushi were injured too.

All those hurt were taken to the Civil Hospital for first aid, police said. They were then shifted to different hospitals based on injury severity. Tanu was referred to PGI Rohtak. Satbir Chauhan was sent to Gurugram, and Jai Bhagwan was moved to the Army Hospital in Delhi.

Rewari explosion probe awaits forensic report

Police said Madhu and Khushi received treatment for minor injuries. After getting information, police teams reached the spot and secured the area. A Forensic Science Lab FSL team was called to examine the site. Police said samples and other evidence were collected during the inspection.

Investigators said they were checking all possible angles linked to the Rewari blast. Officials said the reason for the explosion was yet to be ascertained. Police added that the exact cause would be known only after the forensic report is received, and further action would follow that assessment.
