Chile: Trapped miners to be rescued on Oct 12

Copiapo, Oct 12: After the long waiting two months, finally the rescue operation in Chile mines, the 33 trapped miners would be freed on Tuesday night (Oct 12).

The rescuers successfully tested a capsule to hoist the trapped miners.

Mining Minister, Laurence Golborne informed that the specially designed bullet-shaped cage was lowered almost the entire length of the escape shaft without a hitch.

During a visit to Ecuador, President Sebastian Pinera said, "It will be a true rebirth, not just for the 33 miners but also for the spirit of unity, strength, faith and hope they have shown our country and the world."
