US remains committed to hunt down Osama, Zawahiri: Mullen
Washington, Oct 8 (ANI): The United States remains committed to tracking down Al Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden, and his deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, US Joint Chief of Staff Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen has stated, adding that the terror organisation "has been significantly diminished."
In an interview, Mullen predicted that the top two leaders of the terrorist network would eventually be hunted down, the Daily Times reported.
"It would certainly be significant if we were to find and kill bin Laden or Zawahiri. We are seeking to do that," said Mullen.
"I actually believe that at some point in time it will happen," he said, adding, "Al Qaeda has been significantly diminished over the course of the last two or three years but by no means are they no longer lethal."
The Admiral also said, "We have gained an edge on Al Qaeda," but added that the group still remained a big threat. (ANI)
