Brazilian student expelled for mini dress wins £15k in court case
London, Oct 7 (ANI): A student who was expelled from her university for wearing a mini dress has won 15,000-pounds payout from her university.
Geisy Arruda was thrown out of Bandeirante University in Sao Paulo for sporting the red outfit in class, leading to a massive public outcry.
She was expelled for disturbing classes through "a flagrant lack of respect for ethical principles, academic dignity and morality," reports The Sun.
Arruda's lawyers, however, have asked for a bigger compensation amount - saying they were seeking a much higher pay-out for her "trampled dignity".
The university backed down on the expulsion after the education ministry accused it of "total intolerance and discrimination". (ANI)
