PM Manmohan Singh celebrates his 78th birthday
New Delhi, Sep. 26 (ANI): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh celebrated his 78th birthday in a very quiet manner here on Sunday.
President Pratibha Patil and Vice President Hamid Ansari sent flowers and wished the Prime Minister on the occasion.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati greeted him over the telephone.
Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers and Congress leaders also wished the Prime Minister among the others.
Last year, Singh had celebrated his birthday on-board a flight while returning from G-20 summit in Pittsburgh in the US.
Manmohan Singh was born on September 26, 1932 in Gah, west Punjab, now in Pakistan. (ANI)
