Climate change: Largest coal port closed in Oz
Sydney, Sep 26: World's largest coal port in Australia has been shut down by the climate change activists on Sunday, Sep 26.
Port Waratah Coal Services has been closed after entering its three terminals and attaching themselves to loaders.
The group, Rising Tide in Newcastle stopped operations at all three terminals operated by coal port, which normally run continuously.
"We have stopped all operations in the coal port," said Annika Dean, Rising Tide spokesman.
He stated, "These weather events are consistent with the scientific predictions for climate change. We feel like Australia's coal exports are contributing to this problem."
However, he also informed, "All operations have temporarily stopped."
